• Men’s Shortboard Format– Round 1 will be 6-man heats with top 3 advancing (1st to semi-final and 2nd/3rdto round 2. All heats after round 1 will be 4-man heats with top 2 advancing. 1st through 4th in the final will receive prize money as indicated on prize money breakdown.

• Women’s Shortboard Format– Round 1 will be 6-man heats with top 3 advancing (1st to final and 2nd/3rd to repercharge). All heats after round 1 will be 4-man heats with top 2 advancing. 1st through 4th in the final will receive prize money as indicated on prize money breakdown.

• Men’s Longboard Format– Round 1 will be 6-man heats with top 3 advancing (1st to final and 2nd/3rd to repercharge). All heats after round 1 will be 4-man heats with top 2 advancing. 1st through 4th in the final will receive prize money as indicated on prize money breakdown.

• Women’s Longboard Format– Round 1 will be 4-man heats with top 2 advancing to finals. 1st through 4thin the final will receive prize money as indicated on prize money breakdown.

• Boy’s Grom Format– Round 1 will be 4-man heats with top 2 advancing to finals.

• Girls Grom & Beginners Format– this will just be a final.

• Check in (On-site)– Please check in at the Beach Marshal tent (located next to the structure) at least 10 minutes before your scheduled heat time to grab your jersey and heat instructions. Schedule and draws will be posted onsite.

• Heat duration– All first-round heats are 15 minutes then 20 minutes following rounds and finals.

• Wave Max/Scores– each heat you can ride maximum of 12 waves, your best two waves will be counted for your overall point total. 

• Judging Criteria – (WSL Criteria) MAJOR combinations of maneuvers in the MOST critical sections with speed power flow (in control) will be scored highly. MAJOR single maneuvers will also be rewarded. Combinations of MAJOR progressive above the lip surfing will be highly rewarded. If barrels are in play that will also be rewarded depending on entry, how critical, how deep, how long and with clean exit. Each division will have it’s own scale.

• Interferences – WSL rules in effect, if called, the surfer who interfered, their second highest scoring wave will be cut in half. 

• Judges – (There will be 3 scoring judges and a head judge, each scoring judge score will be averaged out for each wave scored.
